Our Flow classes are designed to cultivate heat in the body with creative sequences involving sun salutations, standing and seated postures, back bending, arm balancing, and a strong focus on the power of breath awareness. Flow yoga classes tend to be more vigorous and aerobic, and classes can have a variety of music and themes. Do you need to decrease bodyfat? Have you been spending more time sitting and less time moving? Join Dee for a fun class and work at your own level.
 
High Intensity Interval Training, or HIIT, is the most efficient, comprehensive fat burning, core strengthening, and toning workout for busy people. This is a different level of workout than just cardio and is targeted just below your cardiovascular heart rate.

The structure of the 30 minutes includes a moving and stretching five-minute warmup. This is followed by ten circuits of 30 seconds of body weight moves, with adjustments for beginner to moderate to advanced folks. After each 30 seconds of work, there is a 60 second period of light movement to bring heart rate back down. Each time you complete one of the ten circuits to restart the process of fat burning in the body. The last five minutes is a combination of static holds and stretches to release the tension and lactic acid in the muscles. Even just one of these workouts per week will have an impact on your fat burning, however, twice a week will supply faster results.

We will incorporate various breath techniques into this class that elicit the calming response in the mind and body.

Important Information:
 
  • Advanced Sign Up Required.
  • Bring your own mat and any yoga props you may want to use.
  • Maximum capacity is 10 people spaced between 6-8 feet apart for social distancing. Per new LA County regulation on 11/27/2020 masks are again required during exercise for a minimum of three weeks.
  • If you cannot attend class you must cancel at least two hours before class, otherwise you will lose your drop in credit.
  • Members who are no-shows will be charged a $20 drop in rate for late-cancellation.
  • New waiver must be signed before your participation in class.
  • Bring a layer for our cooler months.

All participants in the class will receive distance Reiki at the end of class. Reiki is a spiritual healing art with its roots in Japanese origin. The word Reiki comes from the Japanese word (Rei) which means “Universal Life” and (Ki) which means “Energy”. Reiki is not affiliated with any particular religion or religious practice. It is not massage nor is it based on belief or suggestion. It is a subtle and effective form of energy work using spiritually guided life force energy.
 

Reiki is the life energy that flows through all living things. Reiki Practitioners understand that everyone has the ability to connect with their own healing energy and use it to strengthen energy in themselves and help others. It is believed that a person’s “ki” or energy should be strong and free flowing. When this is true a person’s body and mind is in a positive state of health. When the energy becomes weak or blocked it could lead to symptoms of physical or emotional imbalance.
